Film Fotos from Italy

A film foto series from my travels in Italy.

In my ongoing blog series, I'm excited to share snapshots from my recent journey to Italy. This marked my first visit to both Italy and Europe, and it lived up to every enthusiastic description I'd ever received. The country is a treasure trove of history and culture, and at every corner, it felt like stepping into the pages of a photo book or a scene from a movie. I hope you enjoy this photo series, and if you have any questions about the images or Italy itself, feel free to reach out!

Each image encapsulates my perspective in capturing the essence of the picturesque city through the classic usage of a 35mm film camera. All works will be available for sale upon request.

Half-Frame Photography is a Vibe.

Unveiling the Charm of Half-Frame Photography!

I recently acquired an Olympus Pen-FT from the New York Camera Store of Princeton, marking the beginning of my photographic journey in 2024. This half-frame camera, destined to be my signature style for the year, boasts a design reminiscent of a rangefinder, exuding a robust build and delivering exceptional photo quality.

Diverging from the standard 35mm frames measuring 36mm x 24mm, the Pen-FT's unique feature splits the image vertically, generating two 24mm x 18mm images for every traditional 35mm frame. This distinctive format opens up creative possibilities and adds a touch of novelty to my photographic endeavors.

My encounter with this captivating camera unfolded unexpectedly during a visit to the New York Camera Store of Princeton. Initially there to procure film for an upcoming wedding, my attention was diverted when a sophisticated lady entered the store. She carried with her a substantial box filled with an array of photography treasures, remnants of her late father's passion for the art. Despite the melancholy surrounding her father's recent passing, I found myself irresistibly drawn to explore the photographic gems she had brought into the store. After all, we were in a haven dedicated to the world of cameras and imagery.  The experience underscored the notion that acquiring a used camera is often about being in the right place at the right time, and on that day, fortune favored me. I am genuinely excited about delving into this new-to-me format and look forward to the creative opportunities it presents. Below, I share a series of photos from my initial rolls of film. I hope you enjoy the journey!

Capturing Lambertville: A Film Photo Series

Explore the charm of Lambertville, New Jersey. From historic streets to scenic landscapes, each frame tells a story, inviting you to discover the hidden gems and unique character that define Lambertville.

When I moved to Lambertville at the beginning of 2021, I was excited to get back to photographing the world around me. Photography has always been my passion, and I love capturing moments on film. Lambertville, NJ is an amazing place to take photos. The town has a rich history, charm, and scenic beauty that make it an ideal backdrop for my photography. I believe that film photography can bring out the warmth of the town, especially during different times of the day. My favorite time to shoot is during the golden hour when the sun casts long shadows and creates warm, dreamy atmospheric vibes. However, even on overcast days, the town can provide a moody, introspective feel. I have included some of my favorite photos of Lambertville for you to enjoy.

I’ll be adding more photos throughout the weekend so make sure to check back in a few days. If you could be so kind to drop me a comment below and let me know how I’m doing it would greatly be appreciated. If you see any photos that you’d like as a print let me know in the comments as well.

"From the Van”: Capturing The World On the Go - A Photographer's Journey as an Art Handler

My inaugural blog post – the moment I've been anxiously awaiting for months. I found myself in a quandary, pondering what words to share and which photos to unveil. It may sound peculiar, but I've got a soft spot for antiquated technologies. In this age of innovation, I'm here to discuss something that some might consider outdated – blogs.

It's amusing to reflect on this now, as I sit here, co-piloting the van and typing "From the Van." To provide some context, my nine-to-five grind involves working for an art handling company. We traverse the entire northeast, moving priceless artworks and objects. It's a thrilling job, but what I love most about it is the opportunity it affords me to capture images of places I'd rarely get to experience otherwise. Here are some of the film photos I've taken from the van.
